The London Piano Auctions held at Conway Hall , Holborn, London on December 12th with over 120 Lots including many Yamaha pianos, Steinway pianos, Bluthner pianos, Bechstein pianos plus a selection of other pianos including Bosendorfer, Broadwood, Kawai and many antique pianos for sale. The ‘120 lots’ auction was delivered and set-up by G&R Removals in 8 hours by 12 men – an unprecedented and unrivalled service. No other piano transport Company ever managed to provide such a service involving such a variety of makes and models of reconditioned, second hand and antique pianos to the London piano auctions, we truly believe we have an unrivalled service. On Thursday 11th April the Piano Auctions saw visitors from around the world, piano buyers from the USA, China and Europe. Steinway pianos were particularly interesting as usual to all buyers and the Chinese piano buyers seemed to like the antique pianos as well as the Steinway and Bechstein pianos. The Yamaha pianos were of little interest to them as they can buy the pianos cheaper in China. The Piano Auctions have a growing reputation in China for unusual antique pianos as well as offering great name pianos at very interesting prices. The comparative piano auction in Shanghai held at the New Expo Center during the Music China exhibition does not offer such great offers and opportunities as the Piano Auctions Ltd in London.
Steinways! Steinways! Steinways! DECEMBER 2013 UPDATE!
With a new upright piano costing in excess of £20,000, and a grand more than £40,000, it seems remarkable that you can still buy one in our auction for £1,000 and £4,000 respectively – albeit it they may be 100 years or so older – they’re still Steinways.
In our September 2013 sale we had 27 Steinways and now in December, breaking our own record, we have an amazing 39!! These range from uprights at around £1,000 to a recent Model B with a guide price of £30,000 – 35,000.
This is the reason why PianoAuctions Ltd has become the venue for buying and selling second-hand Steinways!
